The clinical data for multiple strain formulations should be for the specified combination and not extrapolated from that of the individual strains.

These strains are contained in Alflorex® Dual Action

They are both naturally occurring and safe bacterial cultures, unique to PrecisionBiotics® Group and belonging to the Bifidobacterium longum species.

These types of bacteria can be passed from mother to baby at birth and are native to the human gut.

Dietary FODMAP restriction may affect the balance of the gut microbiome. FODMAPS act as prebiotics by providing a nutrient source for our gut bacteria, so if we deprive these bacteria of these sources of nutrients, we potentially reduce the amount of bacteria in our gut. In particular, research shows a reduction in Bifidobacterium strains with dietary FODMAP restriction (Halmos EP et al. Gut 2015, 64. 93-100).

Bacteria begin to colonize the gut at birth, with the bacterial profile of an individual being developed in early childhood. Once established, the bacterial profile is very resistant to change. Whilst the raw ingredients in Alflorex® Dual Action may be suitable for those following a Halal/Kosher diet, the production of Alflorex® Dual Action has not received Halal/Kosher certification.

Yes, the raw ingredients in Alflorex® Dual Action are suitable for vegans. Alflorex® Dual Action does not contain any animal products in the formulation.

The raw materials used for Alflorex® Dual Action do not contain any of the allergens listed in the Regulation (EU) 1169/2011, and the manufacturing facilities ensure there is no cross contamination from allergens.

Take one capsule every day, with or without food. For best results, we recommend taking Alflorex® Dual Action with water, milk or plant-based milk alternatives, rather than hot drinks and acidic drinks such as fruit juices.

If you find it difficult to swallow the capsule, the capsule can be opened and the contents dispensed and mixed into water, milk or food, and consumed straight away.

Fruit juices are generally acidic, and acid can damage the 35624® and 1714®cultures in Alflorex® Dual Action making it less effective. For best results, we recommend taking Alflorex® Dual Action with water, milk or plant-based milk alternatives, such as soya, almond or rice milks as these are less acidic than fruit juices.

We know from our research studies that the 35624® and 1714® strains survive the acidic environment of the stomach as it transits through the gastrointestinal tract. However, we recommend that Alflorex® Dual Action is not taken with fruit juice as a precaution to ensure that the strain is in peak condition when entering the gastrointestinal tract.

The Bifidobacterium longum 1714® and 35624® strains in Alflorex® Dual Action can be inactivated by heat.

We recommend taking Alflorex® Dual Action with cold drinks instead of hot drinks.

The bacteria in Alflorex® Dual Action stay in your gut only for as long as you continue to take it. After that, they will be naturally swept out by bowel movements, which is why it is important to continue to take Alflorex® Dual Action every day to keep your gut primed.

We recommend not drinking alcohol for a few hours after taking Alflorex® Dual Action.

If you are prescribed antibiotics, it is best to take Alflorex® Dual Action at a different time of day from the antibiotics because the bacteria in Alflorex® Dual Action can be inactivated by antibiotics.

The raw ingredients contained in Alflorex® Dual Action are suitable for children over 3 years of age. The size of the capsule is small and therefore we recommend this product is used by children over the age of 12 years. If given to younger children, they should be supervised to prevent choking.

The contents of the Alflorex® Dual Action capsule can also be dispersed in water or milk, or mixed with food, and consumed immediately.

Alflorex® Dual Action has been formulated to combine the unique 35624® strain and calcium, to support digestive health, as calcium plays an important role in supporting the normal functioning of digestive enzymes.
