“Chickpeas contain substances known as phytoestrogens, which can help to balance levels of oestrogen and testosterone. When these hormones are unbalanced, mood can be affected and anxiety can occur. Enjoying a warm bowl of nourishing soup can also have a calming effect.” Dietitian Dr Sarah Schenker.
