Precisioniotics® Immune contains the PrecisionBiotics® Bifidobacterium longum PB-VIR™ strain.

This unique strain has been specially formulated with extra strength vitamin D to support the normal functioning of the immune system.

The PB-VIR™ strain is a naturally occurring and safe bacterial strain, belonging to the Bifidobacterium longum species; these are types of bacteria passed from mother to baby at birth.

Immune contains 400 international units of vitamin D (i.e. 10 μg cholecalciferol or vitamin D3), which is 200% of the nutrient reference value (NRV).

NRVs are recommended levels for the nutritional intake of vitamins and minerals to prevent deficiency in an average healthy person.

In a few people, taking too many vitamin D supplements over a long period of time can cause too much calcium to build up in the body, causing health problems. The HSE Ireland website states that taking 25 μg (i.e. 1,000 international units) or less a day of vitamin D supplements is unlikely to cause any harm.

Some people have medical conditions that mean they may not be able to safely take as much. If in doubt, or concerns, you should consult your doctor.

We recommend taking just one tablet per day.

The PB-VIR™ strain is safe and is not likely to lead to any health consequence if you do take more than one, however taking too many vitamin D supplements can cause side effects.

During the first two weeks of taking PrecisionBiotics® Immune, some people may experience mild and temporary changes in their gut. We would not recommend making changes to your diet during this time, before the gut has adjusted to taking PrecisionBiotics® Immune. We recommend that you speak to a healthcare professional who can best advise you about reintroducing trigger foods whilst taking PrecisionBiotics® Immune, in the context of your full medical history.

There are no specific studies involving the Bifidobacterium longum PB-VIR™ strain in PrecisionBiotics® Immune in people following the low FODMAP diet.

Yes, PrecisionBiotics® Immune is suitable for following a vegetarian diet. Due to the manufacturing process of the Vitamin D contained in PrecisionBiotics® Immune, the product is not suitable for those following a vegan diet.

Whilst the raw ingredients in PrecisionBiotics® Immune may be suitable for those following a Halal/Kosher diet, the production of PrecisionBiotics® Immune has not received Halal/Kosher certification.

Due to the manufacturing process of the Vitamin D contained in PrecisionBiotics® Immune, the product is not suitable for those following a vegan diet.

The raw materials used for PrecisionBiotics® Immune do not contain any of the allergens listed in the Regulation (EU) 1169/2011, and the manufacturing facilities ensure there is no cross contamination from allergens.

We recommend not drinking alcohol for a few hours after taking PrecisionBiotics® Immune.

If you are prescribed antibiotics, it is best to take PrecisionBiotics® Immune at a different time of day from the antibiotics because the bacteria in PrecisionBiotics® Immune can be inactivated by antibiotics.
